Der in Paris geborene und aufgewachsene Sébastien Dupouey ist Videokünstler und Bühnenbildner. Nach seinem Studium an der École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs de Paris und Projekten als Musiker und Grafikdesigner, führte er Regie für Musikvideos, Animationsfilme und Dokumentationen für die französische Musik- und Fernsehindustrie.

Um seinem Interesse an gemischten Ausdrucksformen, hybriden Produktionen und experimentellen Ansätzen intensiver nachzugehen, zog er 2010 nach Berlin und entwickelte Videokonzepte, visuelle Installationen und Räume für Theater, Musikshows und Museen. Er arbeitete u.a. zusammen mit Thomas Ostermeier, Falk Richter, Marius von Mayenburg, Dead Centre, Simon McBurney, Maja Zade, Stefan Pucher, Germaine Acogny, Edouard Louis, Didier Eribon, Peter Gabriel und Herbert Grönemeyer.

Seit 2010 kreiert er Videodesigns und visuelle Installationen für Theaterproduktionen und arbeitete u. a. für die Schaubühne, das Maxim Gorki Theater, das Residenztheater, die Münchner Kammerspiele, die Deutsche Oper, die Staatsoper Berlin, das Manchester International Festival, die Ruhrtriennale, das Athener Epidaurus Festival, Le Centre Pompidou Paris, die Comédie Française, das Festival d'Avignon, das Festival d’Aix-en-Provence, die Opéra national de Lorraine, die Comédie-Française, das Théâtre de la Ville, das Schweizerische Nationalmuseum und die Opéra de Lausanne und das Oslo National Theater. Seit 2024 unterrichtet er regelmäßig als Gastdozent am Art Center College of Design in Berlin.

Paris-born and raised, Sébastien Dupouey is a video artist and stage designer. After studying at the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs in Paris and working on projects as a musician and graphic designer, he directed music videos, animated films, and documentaries for the French music and television industry.

In 2010, he moved to Berlin to further pursue his interest in mixed forms of expression, hybrid productions, and experimental approaches. There, he developed video concepts, visual installations, and spatial designs for theater, music shows, and museums. He has collaborated with artists and directors such as Thomas Ostermeier, Falk Richter, Marius von Mayenburg, Dead Centre, Simon McBurney, Maja Zade, Stefan Pucher, Germaine Acogny, Edouard Louis, Didier Eribon, Peter Gabriel, and Herbert Grönemeyer.

Since 2010, he has been creating video designs and visual installations for theater productions, working with institutions including the Schaubühne, Maxim Gorki Theater, Residenztheater, Münchner Kammerspiele, Deutsche Oper, Staatsoper Berlin, Manchester International Festival, Ruhrtriennale, Athens Epidaurus Festival, Centre Pompidou Paris, Comédie-Française, Festival d'Avignon, Festival d’Aix-en-Provence, Opéra national de Lorraine, Théâtre de la Ville, the Swiss National Museum, Opéra de Lausanne, and Oslo National Theater. Since 2024, he has also been a regular guest lecturer at the Art Center College of Design in Berlin.
